"Father" fogive me...

... for I have "sinned" it has been over one week since my last post! Yes, it's true, you've caught me slacking AGAIN. Well, doggone it, life's just been too much the same.

But all that's about to change pretty soon... in less than a week I'll be winging my way to the Mainland for a well deserved (well, maybe not so...) break from Island Life!
And what's with that ghastly photo you say...? Well, it's VULTURE AWARENESS DAY today at Disney's Animal Kingdom, and Saturday, 9/4 is INTERNATIONAL VULTURE AWARENESS DAY! Really - I wouldn't make up a thing like that. The simple reality is, Vultures are Natures Garbage Disposal, and without them there'd be a lot more disease, insect pests and general stench. Think about it, or check it out for yourselves... IVAD Website.

PARASKEVIDEKATRIAPHOBIA DAY IS PAST

Where does THAT come from you ask...? Try this: Paraskevidekatriaphobia: Derived from three Greek words = “Paraskevi” which means Friday, “dekatria” which means Thirteen, and “phobia” which means fear.

And speaking of "fear" - there's none showing here, in the face of Tyler "Captain Courageous" Jones... at the tiller aboard KAMEHAMEHA. We had the occasion to go on a day sail with Captain Tom while High School Friends, Mary & Jerry Meyer were here, as was Kris, at the end of July. Amanda and Family joined us, here's a shot of Grandpa and little Hailey just leaving Lahaina - I'd say the expressions on our faces say it all.

The big news last week was Amanda getting sheared for Charity... these BEFORE & AFTER shots pretty much tell the story.

My favorite Nursing Student does this every couple years, because "she can!" And I'm proud as can be that she does.

Yesterday good Friend and Captain of MOWEE (a Swan '57) Patrick McLean got married. Jules, the Bride was gorgeous and it was a nice ceremony at their home in Maui Meadows. I drove down with Bobby (Mr. Sports Trivia) & Lori Powers, their Friend Sara and our very own Thumper McCarthy. A good time was had by all. (For you TV fans, Mowee was featured as ELIZABETH, in the last couple episodes of the TV Series, LOST.)

Earlier in the day Lahainaluna High School officially opened their NEW Football Field. It's state of the art AstroTurf, electronic scoreboard, bleachers and everything. It not only looks great, but has arguably one of the best views of any football field anywhere... I'll try and get some photos one of these days.

And on that note... I'm off to join the Jones's & Maguire's at Canoe Beach for a little fun in the sun. ALOHA YA'LL.
