Yes, it was almost a Month ago...

How Dee Doo, Ya'll... Yep - the Fourth of July was almost a month ago... but things have been a little slow here, and this is the first opportunity I had to share this photo. Well, OK, truth is "things" haven't been all that slow, just me!

We've had the Start and the Finish of this year's Vic-Maui Race, which happened to be a fairly quick one this year. O'Neill and Kathy were here. Kris and our Friends (from High School) Mary & Jerry Meyer have been here and gone - 8~( George Pierot, Marcus DeChevrieux, Dan Snyder, Lea Voss, Skeeter, Jimbo & Sherry Lyn and several others have all had Birthdays this Month, AND it's darned near August already.

Been sailing (thanks Tom) on KAMEHAMEHA with Family & Friends, had a great dinner at IO and a fair one at Canoe's, Breakfast at the Gazebo and of course several meals at the Lahaina Yacht Club. Health is good, weight is good, Mom's GOOD (had lunch with her at Roselani last week), Kid's are good (Kelly's horse sitting for a couple months) ahhh, LIFE'S GOOD.

Took Tom & Emma to the Airport yesterday, he's escorting her back to Cape Cod and Mom for the Winter and I'm about to leave for B-Sit duty with Tyler & Hailey, as it's Kyle's B-Day today. And on that note... I'm outta here! C-Ya.

(NOTE: Most of you know this I think, but just to be sure... please be aware that I often include LINKS in my messages, for those who are interested can see or learn more about a particular item of interest. They will usually be a COLOR, in larger size and will be UNDERLINED when you move your curser over them. Check them out!)

It all began with a Mouse...

HAPPY 55th BIRTHDAY DISNEYLAND and THANK YOU Walt!

Now here's something to get stirred up about. Do you know what day this is? Oh sure, it's Saturday, but you don't get any points for that... more importantly it's the 55th Anniversary of when DISNEYLAND opened! YEAH WALT! YEAH MICKEY MOUSE! Sorry Orange Trees!

You can find a nice little "condensed version" here, DISNEYLAND and if you scroll down, a little more about the new attraction at DCA, World of Color. I knew this was coming and recently treated myself to the Limited Edition set of WALT DISNEY TREASURES - DISNEYLAND. It's a two DVD set including the first ABC broadcast of DISNEYLAND (the TV series) which later became the Wonderful World of Color, the Opening Day 90 minute telecast, and a whole lot of pre-opening and development film footage. (Yes, I'm spoiled - but oh so knowledgeable!)

Well, I don't see any way to top this news, other than to mention that come September, yours truly will be back in SoCal and back for a real close up and personal visit the the Magic Kingdom myself. It's turning into a real jam packed saturation experience which I'm really looking forward to, and will fill you in further as time goes by.

Another boat is about to finish the Vic-Maui Race, so I'm off to great the Sailors!

and inspiration to all the world." Walter E. Disney

Guilty as Charged!

Yessir! I'm guilty as charged... Just a no good fer nuthin', back-slidin' ner-do-well slip-shod bellyacher who should be taken out and noodle whipped! There's just no excuse, other than there ain't been much to say, at least nuthin' much worthwhile. Oh sure, life is good, and all things considered it's been plenty peaceful here in Paradise, practically perfect you might say. Only thing is, I don't want ya'll thinkin' I'm braggin' or trying to make you jealous because it's so pretty much the same all the time here - it simply is.

And Yes, putting the picture of Hailey here is just my shameless attempt to take the attention off of my lack of journalistic performance...

Well, the biggest thing going right now is we're finishing the Boats in this years Victoria to Maui Yacht Race, sponsored by the Royal Vancouver and Lahaina Yacht Clubs. There's alot of good information, including Race Tracking if you're interested, at http://www.vicmaui.org/. And also the site I put up for LYC Committee Members and this year we also have a LOGOWEAR website. Check 'em out.

It gets a little crazy around here with all the boats finishing at different times, often in the wee small hours and Lahaina's big function is to provide Greeting Parties for the finishing Yachts and their Crews. Well, you can probably figure my big draw... it's always FUN to Party!

On a sad note - I must report that I bid a fond farewell to the "Lahaina Gal" today. And so I say good-bye to an old "Friend," rolling storage, and the Pearl of the Pacific. Miss her as I shall, I will take some comfort in knowing that she's gone to a better place, may she rust in peace!

(OK, for those of you who might not know, "Pearl" was my 1989 Ford, E-150 Van, also retired from Lahaina Galleries and who'd made more trips to the "Big Island" than I have...)

Well, being out of shape as it were, my fingers are starting to cramp... but before I go... DO YOU KNOW WHAT DAY TOMORROW IS??? Well, stop back by tomorrow to find out for sure!
